This post is for all my non-uk friends who know not what a cream tea is.
Its a terribly English thing that we Brits do, especially in the summer when its lovely and sunny. And preferably in a traditional English country garden (ie: a National Trust tea room) or in Devon.
It can also be referred to as Afternoon Tea. I like to call it Tiffin.
Traditionally, a cream tea consists of scones, clotted cream, jam and a pot of tea.
Although, there is some debate as to whether you put the cream on first then the jam, or the other way around.
Personally, I put the jam on first, then the cream as its not always easy to spread jam on cream.
Still, each to their own!
